Ben Maddox, Campus Minister

Since 1995, Ben has had a love for the university setting and campus ministry.  As a student at Valdosta State University (VSU), his love and faith in Christ was deepened and his life calling was discovered.  He enjoys seeing college students discover and follow Jesus Christ.  He believes the university is a vital mission setting for influencing students to discover God and live for His glory.

Ben was a student leader at the VSU BCM while completing his BA in Economics.  After graduation, he worked in the insurance industry while Karen completed her BS in Middle Grades Education.  After her graduation, they packed up and moved to seminary so that Ben could complete his Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  Since graduation, he has been a campus minister in Arkansas, Mississippi, and now in Tennessee.

Ben grew up in Georgia.  He and his wife, Karen, met at the BCM while they were students at Valdosta State University.  They have been married since June 1998.  Their son, Brock, was born in 2003 at the end of Ben’s seminary days.  They enjoy running, playing golf, enjoying the outdoors and university life with students.
